Remarks. Tsuda (1942c) considered that the larval record of E. tenellus by Iwata (1927) was misidentification because it was a European species. Nowadays, however, this species is confirmed to be distributed in the Far East Asia including Japan, so that the Tsuda’s claim has become invalid. Although Tanida (2016) treated E. kososiensis is a junior synonym of E. japonicus without remarks, Kuhara (2016) synonymized E. kososiensis with E. tenellus by examination of the holotype of the former.
